Not done listening yet, just got to the part where you talk about e-dumpster-diving. Wanted to let you know that the data on the CDs/DVDs is on the label part (or closer to the label part to be precise), so anything that truly eliminates the data, should work on that part. If you just scratch the other part, you can still get the data back fairly easily by smoothing the surface with special tools.
For the syngress question on the week, I believe you have to edit /etc/config/wireless and comment out the line 'option disabled 1'. That prevents an open AP on flashing the device.
Syngress question of the week answer:
Either comment out/delete the line in /etc/config/wireless, config wireless-device section that reads "option disabled" or set the value to 0.
