I was interviewed for an article on Search Security titled "August Patch Management Woes Strike Again".
The basis of the article was why August is such a popular month for malware. While I can't say I agree with all of the other commentary, it did turn out to be a good article. I tend to think that all patches and updates are important. Don't you?

I always thought it was because the kiddies were out of school and are causing mischief simply because they aren't in school. It makes sense, middle to the end of summer and X-mas holiday, school is out. Most of the people arrested for virus and worm propagation were youngsters, granted not all, but still you have to think that lack of working or school will make a kid bored and get in to trouble. An adult would be concentrating on making money, which would be the more malicious bot's and malware popups etc. that would generate cash.
