PaulDotCom Security Weekly Featured in InfoWorld Article

| | Comments (1)

In an article titled "IT security podcasts you can't miss" PaulDotCom Security weekly was mentioned as being one of 6 chosen podcasts to be featured in Roger Grimes article. We're in good company with the likes of Security Now! and SABAG Security, and Martin Mckeay's Network Security Blog.

We did get the "Microsoft Haters" label, which of course is totally not true (a strong opinion maybe, but we're certainly not haters :)

Some good security podcasts that I listen to that did not make the list are Sploitcast, Binrev, and a few others I just started listening to at Hacker Media.

If you are into Phone Phreaking, check out PLA (Phone Losers of America) podcast. Very funny!

We thank Roger for the article...

Congrats on the recognition! Your podcast has become one of my favorites. Personally, I don't like the list Roger has put together as I have listened to every one of those podcasts except for the CSO. I used to subscribe to Security Now, but I just couldn't stomach it anymore. I found myself getting pissed off because of Steve's misinformation and Leo's cluelessnes and finally unsubscribed. SABAG Security started out pretty good but has recently become just a rehash of McAfee news and "notable vulnerabilities." I may be unsubscribing from it soon. Security Monkey and the Security Catalyst are both good too, although Security Catalyst is sometimes too high level and not enough technical.

PaulDotCom, Martin McKeay, CyberSpeak and BlueBox VOIP are my top rated security podcasts. I have listened to TWAT and BinRev but not been particularly thrilled with the adolescence that dominates them. Maybe I shouldn't be so critical, but if I am going to listen to it, I want to enjoy it, gain knowledge from it and not be annoyed at all by it. Sploitcast has been on my Treo's task list for a while to add but haven't gotten to it yet.
